National League Pennant Odds - Phillies Are Favored
With the 2009 NFL season firmly in the books, many sports bettors now have their sites set on the Major League Baseball season.
With pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training soon, MLB odds makers are hard at work trying to predict the 2010 season.
Prognosticators are calling the Philadelphia Phillies front runners in the National League. Vegas sportsbooks are calling the Philadelphia a 3/1 favorite to repeat as NL Champs.
The Phillies may have lost Cliff Lee, but the acquisition of former Cy Young winner Roy Halladay from the Toronto Blue Jays in the same deal should more than make up for it.
Their doesn’t seem to be any surprises near the top of the list of favorites as the Western Division Champion Los Angeles Dodgers are at 6/1 and the St. Louis Cardinals are 7/1 to win the NL Pennant.
Other notables include the Braves and Cubs who sit at 9/1 while the Mets, Rockies and San Francisco Giants are 10/1.
The league’s biggest long-shot to take home a National League Championship is Washington. The Nationals opened as at 75/1.
