It looks like after four seasons including one championship in New York, Johnny Damon won’t be returning to the Yankees unless he slashes his asking price.

According to Yankees’ general manager Brain Cashman, Damons’ “abilities exceed the money that I have.”

Could the mighty New York Yankees actually be feeling the effects of our nation’s crushing economy or do they just not want Damon anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, $13 million per year is a ridiculous price tag for a 36 year old outfielder with no arm and diminishing speed, but we talking about the Yankees here.

They are famous for overpaying for talent and buying championships. I’m mean, I always though that the only reason they hired him was because of his name; Brian “CASH-MAN.”

I though it was a great tool to lure super-stars in if they were looking for a big pay day.
