Sour Grapes For Ireland In World Cup
Ireland has given up hope of a World Cup playoff replay against France because of Thierry Henry’s handball. I guess someone with some intelligence finally told them to “Shut-Up.”
Maybe soccer fans will start rioting in the streets. These idiots think that a missed call by a referee warrants a replay just because the play knocked out Ireland of the tournament. Rubbish?
The Irish appealed to the French federation to agree to a replay but were turned down Friday.
A replay? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. An official makes a bad call and people want them to play the game over. That just something an ignorant person would say.
Anyone that has ever coached a team; any team at any level, has told their players at one time or another that the officials don’t win or lose a game.
Football Association of Ireland chief executive John Delaney said that the integrity of the game has been compromised.
However, the only thing that would have compromise the integrity of the game would have been a replay. We watch these games and become fans of sport because of the human element. Men fail sometimes, that includes the officials.
If you want perfection… Play a video game.
Thank goodness a replay won’t not happen.
