Now that Charlie Weis is officially out of a job, let the speculation begin.

So, where could the former Irish head man end up? You would have to think that if he wants to work, Weis won’t be out of a job for long.

One of the rumors flying around is that he might be reunited with Todd Haley and Scott Pioli in Kansas City.

Weis and Haley worked together when they were assistants with the New York Jets. Weis also won Super Bowls as the offensive coordinator in New England, when Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli was the Patriots’ vice president of player personnel.

Although Haley denies contacting Weis, he has said that someday he would prefer to let someone else be coordinator and call the plays. Currently he pulls double duty as head coach and play caller in KC.

“I believe in my heart of hearts that’s the way to be the most efficient,” Haley said. “It’s fun calling plays. There’s no doubt about that. I’ve also said my job is to be the head coach of the team and if and when that’s possible, I would think that, in my opinion, is the best way to run the operation.”

He added that that would only be if the right situation became available.

It doesn’t get much better than Weis.
