Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffered a concussion against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. That makes the second offensive starter to get a serious head injury against their NFC East rival this season.

Jackson left the game after he was hit on a catch late in the third quarter. The Eagles originally said that their star wide-out suffered head and neck injuries.

Jackson has developed into the Eagles’ No. 1 wide receiver this season with 44 catches for 769 yards and six touchdowns. He caught a 35-yard TD in Philadelphia’s 27-24 win on Sunday.

Eagles coach Andy Reid says Jackson did not lose consciousness and would need further evaluation.

The Eagles played without running back Brian Westbrook after he suffered a concussion Oct. 26 at Washington.
