NL Wild-Card Race All Tied Up
Things are really heating up in the National League Wild-Card race as the San Francisco Giants completed a three game sweep of the Colorado Rockies to get right back in the thick of things.
Giants short-stop Edgar Renteria hit a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning and to help the Giants pulled even in the NL wild-card race with Colorado last night.
Renteria told his teammates to put up or shut and he has definitely been putting up.
“I told them, ‘Play ball,’” Renteria said.
Renteria also doubled in a run and matched his career high with five RBIs. He was intentionally walked in the eighth with two runners on.
With a little over a month left in the season, every game is huge for these two teams.
