After today’s action, Venus and Serena Williams are one round away from meeting in another Wimbledon final.

Five-time champion Venus defeated Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 6-2 on Tuesday, and two-time winner Serena followed her into the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Victoria Azarenka.

No. 3-seeded Venus will next face-off against, top ranked Dinara Safina, while Serena will take on Elena Dementieva.

This is great for women’s tennis, not just with the Williams sisters advancing, but with the fact that it is the first time since 2006 that all four top-seeded women reached the semifinals at a Grand Slam tournament.

It should be very exciting.

The Williams sisters have dominated on the grass of the All England Club for most of the past decade, but are even more impressed with themselves in this tournament.

“We definitely upped our levels of game today,” Serena said.
