The New York Jets released Brett Favre from the reserve-retired list. That makes the quarterback a free agent if he decides to again come out of retirement.

However, Favre’s agent Bus Cook reaffirmed that the veteran quarterback has no plans to end his retirement now that the New York Jets have released him.

I think we have heard that before.

“Nothing has changed,” Favre said in a statement. “At this time, I am retired and have no intention of returning to football.”

“At this time,” being the key words in that statement.

Favre led the Jets to am 8-3 record through the first eleven games before New York began to slide as he fought a torn biceps tendon injury.

Obviously, no one but Brett knows what he is really thinking right now, but if the injury is completely healed, he is going to feel the itch to be on the field soon enough.

We’ll have to wait an see.
