In an NFL that is more of a business than ever before and tends to be somewhat dark when it comes to dollars and cents, there is a nice story coming out of Arizona with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.

It’s been well documented that Boldin is unhappy with his current contract situation and would like to be traded. In fact, Boldin is so frustrated with the Cards that he said he would not resign with his team.

Fitzgerald says that he would like to restructure his own deal so that the Cardinals can sign Boldin. Fitzgerald got a 4-year deal worth about $40 million at the end of the 2007 season.

Boldin and Fitzgerald are probably the league’s best receiving tandem. I think it’s great for the NFL to see a selfless act once in a while. I can’t imagine Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson doing something like this. It’s really good to see players looking out for the good of the team, even when it effects the own pocket.

There may be hope for the NFL yet.
